pieces of Maine

i'm finally back from a wonderful visit to Maine. i made a jar full of the good things we found along the rocky beaches of Winter Harbor.

Dumpster Diving

i used to work at an antique store in town called Amethyst Dreams. the owner, Kay, was the nicest lady ever and i loved working there because she gave me a really good discount on the things that i really liked. unfortunately, the recession has taken a toll on the store and forced it to close. although i am quite sad (i think a lot of people are), i am fortunate enough to have found a living place right next to the store. during the store's last days she would put things on the curb for the garbage truck to collect. lucky for me, i found some treasures while i rummaging through boxes of the refused.

i loved these juice glasses. so cute!

when i first saw this, i thought it was an actual embroidery piece...but i was disappointed. i still really like it though
