the National Zoo

going to the zoo is bittersweet for me. on one hand, i feel sad for the animals being in, sometimes, small spaces, but i know that it's for the best. i think it's great to help preserve the lives of species that are nearly extinct in the wild, like the cheetahs or the giant pandas, and it helps us to learn about these animals. to be aware of their situation. one other good thing about the zoo is that you can see most animals from all around the world in one place! you don't have to dive deep into the ocean to see a nautilus (yea, i didn't even know they existed anymore, how dumb of me), or go to Asia to see an Asian elephant.

scary spiders. yes, they were hugemy friends used to sing "Pang, Pang the Orangutan" (some friends they were, huh?)when will you ever be able to get this close to a whole colony of bees (unless you were being attacked)
