on the day of Christmas eve, yours truly whipped up some homemade biscuits and sausage gravy (the gravy part). i tried making a roux once before and failed, so this time, i was really skeptical and had a package of gravy on hand. it seemed like i was whisking for several hours before the milk actually started to thicken and looked like gravy.

yes, the thursday morning sounds good...and by morning i meant around 2 pm.
