somewhere, there should probably be a sushaholics anonymous meeting and i should be there, sweat oozing down my pores, and ready for my next sushi fix...unfortunately, such a thing does not exist (or does it?)...anyway, what i'm trying to get at is that i think i'm addicted to sushi!
yesterday, i stuffed my face with some all-you-can-eat sushi buffet to the point that i seriously thought i was going to vomit (yuck! i know). as if that wasn't enough to make me think twice about eating sush, today i made it for dinner. and who better to have over than my good friend Meg, the pickiest eater i know. my little guinea pig Meg has never had sushi...ever!...and i was bound to turn her into a addict like myself. fortunately, she enjoyed herself a plain shrimp tempura roll while J and i ate an avocado roll and a tempura roll. yum, yum!
after dinner, J went bike riding (blah, blah, blah, bike) and Meg and i managed to lose a whole pineapple while watching some trashy tv. haha. speaking of pineapples, picking fruits has always been a thing that puzzled me. (i don't know how to pick out a mango, avocados, oranges, etc.) surprisingly, i pulled off picking the perfect pineapple! somewhere in my crazy little brain, i knew what to do; it was almost like osmosis how it all came to me. standing in the middle of the produce aisle, i picked up a pineapple and sniffed it. i know this might be odd, but if it smells fruity and fresh, then it's ready. then i flicked the skin of the fruit with my finger to see if the the inside is firm and not mushy. by this time J was in full confusion mode, thinking that i'm the biggest weirdo on earth when i pulled out a leaf from the top of the fruit. now, i learned somewhere that if the leaf comes out easily, the pineapple is ready. however! this is totally not the way to go about it. luckily, one of my methods were right, but here's the real way to do it if you don't believe me.
aside from the pineapple, i got some really yummy vegan chap stick from ETSY in the mail today. i'm by no means a vegan, but i stumbled upon it while pouncing (ETSY has this thing where they feature "items available for purchase from shops that have just sold an item, and from undiscovered shops waiting for their first sale"). i purchased a 3 pack mystery vegan yummy inspiring aloe vera olive butter soothing lip conditioner. i know that's a mouthful, but the word conditioner really sold me on it. honestly, i absolutely LOVE chap sticks! i have one in every purse, in my nightstand, and in my jackets (but somehow they always get misplaced, you know what i mean?) but lately i've been having a hard time finding the one that works well. (some chap sticks leave a weird film and residue on my lips and some just plan ol' doesn't work)...as soon as i opened the packaged, i smothered the Dreamy Louisiana Cake Batter scent on and instantly my lips felt awesome! you should definitely check it out!
ok, done advertising (free stuff elladean? haha)
i just realized how late it was (2:30 am) and now i finally feel tired. has that ever happened to you? good thing i get to sleep in tomorrow, i really need it. i hope everyone has a great night. see you tomorrow!

All I have to say is Pang, you are probably the only person who could have got me to try sushi, and it was actually very good, minus the mayonnaise of course! And that pineapple, where did it all go?! oh yea, in our bellies!
