Foto Fun Friday: cat lady

i have been quite the cat lady lately, obsessing over whether or not CJ will be sleeping next to me and wanting to pet him all the time. trust me, it hasn't always been like this. CJ and i have a love/hate relationship. we didn't like each other for the longest time! he used to bite and scratch me so we would generally stay away from each other. now things have changed, and i don't know if it has anything to do with us moving to a new place or what, but he has just been a sweet heart (of course Remy is still my baby girl!).

since he's been more affectionate, i've been obsessed with photographing him...mostly cause he hates being photographed. i caught him all sprawled out on our bed the other night (this cat loves to spread out!), so i couldn't help myself. and of course, since CJ has been getting all of the attention, Remy is more neurotic than ever. she just can't let him be in the lime light.

and that's what i did. i finally cleaned the studio today, i mean, i got one thing accomplished...so i thought why not. let's build a fort!


it has everything i need...books, tissues, blankets, pillows...


and Remy loves it!


and J even came to visit!

i've just had the craziest urge to build one (i know, i'm 24 and still building a fort?). i guess i miss hanging out with C in the fort that we built together. plus, i've always wanted a reading nook, so this is perfect!! it's going to stay up for a whole week (unless my cat ruins the party and crashes it)! come join!

Foto Fun Friday

HI! i hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! i think i ate for like 5 hours straight between my family and J's gatherings.

anywho, here's a Fun Foto for ya!



i don't know what prompted him to do so, but he was sitting upside down with his head hanging off of the couch with his paws in the air. he kept swatting and fanning out his claws in a playful way and kept rolling around like he was on some sort of drug! crazy cat.

couple's massage

you read right. Lacey and i had a little girl date tonight. she got me a gift certificate to a spa in Frederick for my birthday (which he also gave me for Christmas...put them together...one hour, whole body, Swedish massage!!!).

i had a hard time relaxing at first, but it was a wonderful experience (i've never been to a spa before, and now i understand why people love to go there). i was rather surprised that i enjoyed getting my feet (i usually think feet are gross, especially mine) and my head massaged.

afterward, we went to a pretty little coffee/sandwich place in Brunswick called Beans in the Belfry. i wish i had my camera so you could see how beautiful it was. i pulled out my camera to take pictures of us at the spa, but i had forgotten to place the battery back after it charged...perhaps another day...anyway, this place used to be an old church. they gutted it out and furnished it with what seemed like thrifted and antique items. it also helped that the food was pretty good too. we will definitely have to go back there again soon.

anywho, now that i'm home in my pj's, i feel extra relaxed. i'm been treated like loyalty even though it's not my birthday anymore...cheesecake and gifts from my boss, Lacey brought me a muffin after work and baked me a cake...oh yea! and that massage. i know i'm going to be sore tomorrow, but i'm pretty sure my body is going to thank me later.

as for now, it's night night time...

it's an infestation!!!

i guess CJ didn't do a very good job at exterminating, cause now i have an infestation of bats! they've successfully multiplied and i guess i'll just have to live with it...

i have a bat problem

since CJ hasn't been occupying his awesome plaid house. some new neighbors have moved in...

they were so cute, i couldn't resist naming them: Darwin, Abner, Benatar, Mortimer. little did they know, CJ was stalking them from afar. and before long, he tried to take back his house...
don't worry, no bats were harmed. they are safe and sleeping in a basket of owls. as for CJ, he's now taken full control of his plaid castle. night!

what a day it's been

waking up to the sound of a kitteh scratching paint off of the wall is not fun, especially at 8 am on a Saturday. i suppose it's not really his fault, we live in an old house, and the paint on the wall next to our bed just happens to be peeling, so CJ helped it out a little. the problem is, since this house is old, i'm afraid the paint might have lead in it and poison CJ, Remy (cause she eats anything on the floor), and even us. so i decided that this would be the last morning i will worry. i grabbed my quick spackling kit (i have them in handy in case of an emergency...really, we have lots of art in the house)...and i went to town. J said he thought he was dreaming when he saw me spackling so early in the morning. i hope it works and i hope it keeps CJ from peeling anymore paint.

it was a good thing i got up earlier than expected cause i got a chance to make breakfast and brewed some coffee being going off to volunteer at the art gallery. my job was pretty much to be there and work...answer phones, questions, help people with purchases and stuff like that. i didn't do much, i guess people don't go to art galleries on the weekend, so i did this...
i got four out of sixteen owls sewn up. whew! i took this volunteering job because i thought a change of scenery will help motivate me. being at home, there are so many other distractions that it takes me forever to get things done (i'm pretty much moving at a snail's pace), but when i'm somewhere else with my things, stuff gets done. weird. do you get that way?

afterwards, i went to the Goodwill will my friend Ashley to pick out an outfit for tonight's main event...my friend Katie just turned 31 and she's throwing a Golden Girls themed party tonight. i haven't seen much of that show, so i didn't have a specific idea of what i wanted. i think i just wanted something rediculous to wear. i can't wait to show you my get-up, shoulder pads and all. Ashley made me try it on in the store, so i got some weird looks. this one woman told me it was the ugliest dress she's ever seen after i told her i was going to a Golden Girls party cause she was giving me quite the eye. she also told me to tease my hair really high and spray it with Aqua Net, specifically Aqua Net to get that extra layer of helmet on my head. it's going to be great.

and speaking of Katie's birthday, this was what she gave ME on HER birthday (wednesday night)...i love getting presents on other people's birthdays...am i spoiled?!?

the camera, is my favorite part! this was a thank you gift for when i took pictures of her dolls a while back. i love it!

so now it's my turn to go make her something for her birthday. guess what it is?

that's right, a big fat nothing! ideally, i would love to stay in bed all day watching Weeds and eating a huge bowl of this...

i guess i could really do that, but usually my weekends consists of sleeping in late and staying in my jammies while doing a little bit of everything: cleaning, crafting, catching up on some tv time and hanging out with Remy and CJ. lately though, i've been fortunate enough to have the chance to hang out with some good friends.

how they are getting along...

just a little update on the kids. haha. last night was the first night CJ (yay! we finally came to a compromise! short for Curly Jefferson) got to roam around the house. Remy was more than excited and i think he was too.

they both ran around the apartment like maniacs, while J and i try to regulate and occationally remind Remy that CJ is not a toy.
CJ has claimed Remy's toy basket as his own and thinks the pigeon on a book cover is real and keeps pouncing on it. he slept in the bed with us last night and needless to say we didn't catch that many Z's. one, we are afraid of rolling over on the poor guy...and second, he and Remy got up in the middle of the night to play!

i think the novelty is starting to wear off though because they are both doing their own things right now. Remy is off hanging out with 'red dog' (her new favorite toy) and CJ is asleep on my lap! i just hope that when we come home from work tomorrow (Fridays are the longest days of work we both have), the house will still be intact. lets cross our fingers!
