we finally got to take our bikes out for a little ride (when it felt like spring last weekend). now that soccer is over, i think this is going to be my new 'work out'.

i'm not dead...really! so let us catch up!
we survived thanksgiving and the move!
we picked the worst day ever to move; it rained and it was miserable...completely. but we got through it and now we are slowly unpacking and rearranging. the animals are slowly getting used to the new place and each other (Remy is too scared to come down the steps by herself, CJ is super curious, and Hibou has become trapped in her own room!).
for the first few days there were four of us in our cozy apartment, plus two dogs and two cats. our friend Keylan moved from Florida to live in our old apartment in Hagerstown, but had to stay with us while it was getting inspected and cleaned, so for three nights he slept in the kitchen with his 90 lbs dog, Annabelle.

on our first night as roommates (monday) Lacey and i made hamburgers, mashed potatoes, and salad for dinner...and for dessert, Lacey made pumpkin pie. yum!
on the second night, the boys had a guy's night in Hagerstown, and Lacey had to work, so i went to my friend's art/music show at a local restaurant.
Lindsey had all of her stuff tacted on the wall (i had a better picture, so i'll put it on flickr) all the way up to the ceiling.

Lizz King took care of the entertainment. it was a great night.
it's been fun getting into the grove of being back in town (i've been riding my bike to work!). speaking of my bike, i finally got it!
yay! thanks Matt from Literacy Bikes!

anyway, our apartment is coming together very nicely and i even foresee a Lacey/Pang bloglaboration in the future. i will try to be a better blogger (we don't have the internet quite yet, but Lacey is letting me use her computer...yay!), so i just have to get my butt in gear. stay tuned you guys!

sush pour la bouche
for dinner tonight we went to Nikko's for some sushi. a week ago today we went there with the Beebs for some hibachi dinner, and realized we really liked their sush (i went there when they first opened, hated the sushi, and haven't had any since). we even sat at the bar while i harassed the chef with my camera.

i can't tell you how much i love sush! thinking about it now makes me hungry again! i wish our apartment was an Asian market, filled with oriental goodies at my disposal so i could make sushi every night. alas, i know it's only a dream. anyway, sorry this post is short and a little scattered. currently i'm being distracted with picking a color for my bike. you know, i'm a girl who loves options, so i'm flipping the web inside and out for the perfect match. whatever it is, i know it will be rad! till next time everybody!

blah, blah, blog!
yes, it's been quite sometime now...we finally got our very own internet today (hooray, somebody please throw the confetti!), and have i got lots to things to share! and lots of time too i might add cause J and i are both sick and bedridden (not good!). i hope you're ready for a plethora of things this blog is about to show you...
-------
in the past couple of days, we've been pretty busy. J finally got his beloved bike, big thanks to Matt from Literacy Bikes, and i've got a handful of goodies, made a new plush, and experimented with baking from scratch!
back to the bike for a minute, J's John Deere green bike is B-E-A-UTIFUL!
and i certainly can't wait to get my very own (nope, i'm not jealous at all...ok, maybe just a little).
Literacy Bikes (bikes & books) is based in Lancaster, PA, about two hours away from where we live and Matt, the bike maker is great at what he does. J was a very satisfied customer.
-----
i love going to the Dutch Market. nothing is better than perusing around a market full of fresh baked goods, fresh meats, fresh produce or just fresh foods in general.
my favorite part is the bakery cause i absolutely love their snickerdoodles, only cause i have no faith in my own cooking. i get so nervous with cooking/baking my own goods and it not tasting like what it's supposed to that sometimes i just abandon it. J's favorite part is the candy aisle, the gummy eggs are his favorite, and this time he also got some gummy chicken feet as well.

------
another thing i love is bowling. last week we got the chance to go bowling with our good friends Kristen and Victor.
who won you might ask? your's truly, me! i won by three points, getting a strike in the 10th frame and getting an extra turn really helped me out, otherwise i would have been second and Kristen would have taken home the invisible trophy. we were there until close to closing time so we got to goof off a bit. i, of course, whipped out my beloved camera and started snapping away.

lately i've been thinking about trying to do our part in the world and following the going green fad. the other day we purchased a water saving shower head and some dryer sheets that were 100% biodegradable. lets be honest, its a bit of an effort trying to help save the world one little family at a time. but you can only do what you can, right? at least, that's what we figured. one small thing at a time and with us, it started with recycling.
i also recently bought a book called "the Green Book". it was listed on the New York Times Bestseller and i figured it could help me/us with making the right choices or give us the idea of living and doing things differently. J says my sudden interest in all of this is because i've been around She-town for too long. i thing it's because of my boss; her and her family are very environmentally friendly. i'm just trying to do my part, so shoot me, J!
---------
oh! yesterday i made a batch of pecan brownie muffins from one of my cook books! it turned out a whole lot better than i thought considering it was made from scratch. i usually avoid making things from scratch as much as i can cause there's too much risk of getting it wrong. and as i'd mentioned before, i have no confidence in my own cooking what so ever!
after that, i managed to make my first plush since we've moved. i've just been so busy with making curtains, pillowcases, and working that i've just completely pushed that aside. luckily i was inspired by a children's book (I LOVE CHILDREN'S BOOKS!) enough to make one of my sketches into a plush...
alright now, this has been the longest blog on earth, so i'll be stopping here. gotta go wake J up from his drug induced beauty nap. he's not gonna be able to sleep later tonight, so i hope he thanks me for it. see you soon!
