Coast to Cote: week 32

Pang: This week has been kinda blah for me. I’ve been stressing about my move, which turned out to be fine. Subsequently, I’m now stressed out about the unpacking process. I HAVE SO MUCH STUFF. Too much stuff for just one person some might say. I havent been feeling like myself lately, but luckily, I have some great friends and family. My new roommate Meghan gave me a smiley face cookie to brighten up my day.
Lacey: I managed to swindle Ryan into going to the pumpkin patch with me this past week. He wasn't super enthused and I ended up picking his pumpkin but I'm glad we went - even if we still haven't found the time to carve them or make pumpkin seeds.

Foto Fun Friday

went to the first night of a 48 hr pottery firing (as mentioned in Coast to Cote) tonight. it sure was chilly, but the wood burning kiln made it nice and warm. love how you can see the fire so well. this kiln burns twice (once on the top, then as the wood turns to ashes it burns again below) and this was the top layer. the kiln is also a smokeless/odorless one, so when we came home, we didn't have to even shower to get the smell off!
Joy, her husband, and co. were all so very nice and i even got to stoke the fire (twice!). i plan on going back again tomorrow night for pot luck and more photographs. by the way, this photograph was taken straight out of the camera!
hope you're having a great night and an even better weekend!

Foto Fun Friday: Need vs. Want
although today's post is not exactly a photograph, i still want to post it. i stumbled upon this gem and it just tickled me because this is usually my dilemma in the morning...and the waffle (with syrup) prevails.
there's a whole series from the Austin (i think) artist, Erin. she writes:
"when i was 8 i wanted a puppy
when i was 10 i wanted parachute pants
when i was 12 i wanted an ogilvie perm
when i was 14 i wanted a boy named robbie
when i was 16 i wanted a car
when i was in my 20s i wanted to make bad choices
now i want everything
i only need enough to survive"
i love all of it, mostly because i can relate to them all...especially the one about the green thumb (because i have a black thumb).
check them all out here and check her blog out here!
have a nice Friday!

Danny works with acrylics and colored pencils (my favorite) on brown paper...

add shoe designer on top of that too!

uh! i don't need to go into detials why i love his art so much. this guy is straight up versitile...and he even likes building forts!!!! check out his Flickr for more amazing works of art. and if you get so smitten with his work and that want to own one, you could visit his ETSY shop. Danny is also open for commissions through The Polariod Project.

Rock me mama.

my blurry booth and my sales clerks. thanks guys!

this Chickadee came to visit! she was kind enough to help me set up (we were stuck in traffic and had only 15 minutes to set up before the show opened) and took home this lonely banjo.

BFF Sean impersonating a lump of coal. i'd say he did a pretty good job.

OH HAI! i got a quick chance to visit Oh Ginger even though her booth was on the other end of the floor. Meaghan and i met for the very first time at Rock n Shop last December and have been friends ever since! i'm so lucky!

look! Jennifer Cowham of The Sea Change was there too! i a big fan of her jewelry and have a mini collection going. this year, i moved too slow and some of my favorite pieces were sold before i could get them...but! i did get a cheese & camera necklace. it's so me!
anywho. thanks for coming out to support all of the artists. i loved seeing repeat customers (sorry if you had to remind me cause my memory sucks!) and making friends with new customers. much love for you all!
