what i'm doing...

yesterday i took the day off to go over photos from Liz & Cory's wedding. a set up a little station in the livingroom (where there was more light!) and got down to business.



it took me pretty much all day to just look at all the photos (i did get side tracked with chores and a light nap...). my friend, Brian, was my assistant/second shooter for the day and when we combined our shots, i almost fell over! i have quite a bit to work with! here's a sneak peek!

there's so much green around me you'd think it was my favorite color. i can't wait to get a good shot of what i just finished with these. it's new!

i am currently under the weather (i want to be over the weather dang it!), so progress has been slow. i took a whole lot of meds and got to lay down a good bit during work...lets cross our fingers i feel better by Sunday, heck, better by tomorrow! despite my boss' wishes for me to come home and sleep my sickies away, i got down to business and finished a commissioned quilt square for a retiring guidance counselor from my Alma mater...note: first time for quilt square or anything quilt related, finished a batch of new plush (see above), and started on some old favorites (also green). i made oatmeal for J and i for dinner so i could take some more meds and i am now ready for bed. i hope everyone has had a good day. g'night

and on another note, i got a package from Lacey today...of course it was ripped up and broken...thanks USPS!

a Fing without wings

just finished a penguin plush tonight. i am pretty stoked cause this guy is a cutie (sorry to toot my own horns) even though the top of his head is wonky (which i like) and he is without flippers. i made flippers, but they looked pretty weird...but don't worry, i will try again.

i plan on making many more in lots of sizes and shapes. i hope you like him!

being snowed in yesterday was a benefit! i got a whole lot of extra sewing done. i worked on more FINGS for Rock n' Shop (again, rescheduled for this Tuesday, Dec 2nd). then worked some more on a custom order, which i continued today.

i got to spend some time in the studio today and finished three more cookies and made some old favorites. tomorrow i'm going skydiving with a group of friends (my second time!). i hope you're having a great Labor Day weekend!!

new old things

here's something i'm currently working on for my cousin Kelly. she just started a cookie business (on top of her regular two jobs...so we can totally understand eachother!), and is selling in Urbana at the Farmer's Market on sundays. unfortunately, i haven't been able to make it there to support her, so i'm going to send FINGS instead. it's actually going to be a part of a series of two or three (if it works out) items. this guy was supposed to be a pouch, but it didn't turn out that way...so you could now just shove cookies into it...or whatever. Loveydoodle Cookie Emporium has a poll every week for a fan choice cookie on Facebook, so when you are a fan, you get to vote!!

i've tried making cookies before. the last time was for as a Christmas gift to a friend. he would always ask me if i brought him a cookie, so i finally did! it was one of the first FINGS i've ever made...you could definitely see a bit of a difference here.


another FING that's been in the works is a giant Mr. Pickles with a Darfur heart patch. i made him for an upcoming benefit/concert being held in She-town...tomorrow. it will be a part of an art auction mostly donated by local artists. i think our little chickadee is donating something.

so come out if you're around. it's rain or shine!!

this evening i got together with Corey and Liz for their photo session. we had a great time walking all around She-town and even stopped at the Meck for a refreshment. i took over 400 pictures and we still have one more session left!! i guess we will see which ones make the cut as i start editing them more intensely. in the mean time, enjoy a cold one and the first finished photograph.

i'm easing myself back into crafting, slowly.

i just started a new schedule and work so this week has been a bit grueling. i did manage to squeeze sometime into making something for a my friend Meg. she's a mix media/painter and i have been a lover of her art. last week Meg sent me a mask/hat to add to my collection, so i made her a little thank you gift. here's a sneak peek. i'm pretty sure she doesn't read my blog so i'll show you the whole thing tomorrow after i send it off. enjoy!

i took an unusually long craft hiatus after the last show that it's taking me a while to get back into the grove. tonight i cleaned/tidied the studio and remembered i had yet another unfinished project to take care of (i have a pile of unfinished projects, yikes!). here's a snippet of a soon to be finished project.
