Voila!

ALL DONE! it took a while, but i'm glad it's finished. i still have a few pieces cut out and ready to be sewn, but i've meet my quota and i'm stopping. FINALLY! honestly, i've never made this many all at once before, so i found it really hard to get motivated after working for hours and not seeing the fruits of my labor. i'm an instant gratification kind of gal, you know? here they are...

here's what the tags look like. J helped me with the staining. now when people come close to the owls, it'll make them want to drink coffee.

HECK! i actually liked them all. it's going to be hard to say goodbye when i meet up with V (the store owner) tomorrow. wish me luck!

This is...the space in which i create!

this is my creative corner, if you will. it's located in the "ugly room" (the middle room in our apartment with gray wall paneling, brown linoleum floors, and yellow chandeliers), but sometimes my work spills into the living room and the coffee table. here's a couple of closeups...

a table right in the middle of the dang room! my sewing machine that used to be in the corner (on the computer table in the first picture) has taken up a space at the table. i sew, cut, glue, measure, stuff, and trace in this table. i wanted to keep in the way it actually looked instead of cleaning it so you can see how i work. i'm terrible at being organized. hey, i'm only human, but a crafty one!

I've been working...

i've been working for six hours today (working and watching episodes on ABC.com), and all i've got to show for are these little cuties...

that's three out of eleven. WHEW! (a sigh and a brow wipe) i'm trying to crank 'em out before Saturday. i have a meeting with a prospective carrier, although i'm still unsure because i have no idea how/how much i should whole-sell them for. it's going to be a little hard trying to squeeze these guys in between three twelve-hours work days...in a row...yuck! but crafters do what they've got to do, right? if i'm not too tuckered out, i'll keep you updated. don't hold it against me if i don't though. anyway, hope you all have a great night!

and ps - i took this picture of Meg's cat, Buddy, doing some kitty gymnastics. i'm thinking about putting a clever caption on the bottom and submitting it to Icanhascheezburger.com.

only one problem though...i still have to come up with that elusive clever caption. maybe i'll ask J.

what's up?

here's what has been happening...

- i spent most of the day yesterday with Meg doing girly thangs...lunch, shopping, talking, reading and taking naps in the middle of the evening, AND! i got to watch an Army Wives marathon...now i'm hooked!

- i just signed up for a summer postcard swap, organized by Andrea from Hula Seventy. (what a pretty blog huh?)...anyway, i just realized that i really like swaps, so when i found out about this (sorry i forgot how i found out), i had to be a part of it. you can too cause the deadline isn't till June 15th!

- J & I went to a Mustache and Lipstick party last night...

my lovely friend Audrey artfully drew this stache on me with liquid eyeliner.

...i would show you J's REAL mustache, but it's way too creepy for the internet.

- i also just joined in on a "meme". it's called "This is..." and every wednesday, someone posts an answer to the question, for example: this is...my favorite book...and i will have to post the my answer on the following sunday. get it? ...uh...here's a link explaining what i'll be doing...well, at least i think i'll be doing it. i'm still waiting for a reply...

- we bought a portable air conditioner today. thank goodness! i was burning up and could hardly stand it even with the fans going. imagine what Remy felt like, huh?

- tonight J and i went up to the Black Thorn Gallery in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

i tagged along as J was invited to a friends and family opening party of this art gallery/tattoo shop. they have a pretty cool set up going on...gallery in the front, shop in the back. it's located on the main street of Mechanicsburg, so the building's got a lot of character and a quirky layout.

- i had to whole weekend off without asking for the first time, and to be totally honest, it felt really good! essentially, i'm having a four day weekend cause i'm off tomorrow and tuesday. but i still have so much to do! my list (on a Red Robin napkin holder) is pretty hefty and i'm slowly crossing things off...starting tomorrow!!

also...i'm currently really into this...

~ i got a new lens for my camera the other day. it's a 75-300 mm Canon lens. check out a picture that i took with it...i had to stand really far away to get a good shot! this lens can almost allow me to spy on my neighbors (of course i would never do that though.)

~ i harvested these strawbabies from my back porch too! they were really tart though!~ here's a sneak peek at the new project i've been working my little tush off on...~ i got a this cute little postcard from my friend Lacey today. she is currently in France and wishes not to come back...i don't blame her.
~ i had a softie photo shoot with Katie from Keighty Crochet today also. what fun!?! here's one of my favorite...
~ ...and did you know that there was a tornado in our area the other day? ...when i say our area, i meant Sharpsburg, Shepherdstown, Ranson, and Martinsburg.

~ i also got a haircut today. it's short and different, but i like it.

something new...

guess who's trying to grow sunflowers? yes, your's truly is at it again. i got these sunflower seeds from the Artomatic show while i was there last month. they are a part of the Sunflower Art Festival. i'm planning on actually planning these little sprouts in our backyard (even though it's a rental) because our porch doesn't get enough sunlight. and as they grow (if they grow), i'll try to keep track of them and share my progress on the project's Flickr pool. ...and also, take a gander at this pile of fresh felt! some bunny's getting ready to craft her blues away. watch out peeps!
...oh! and since i don't have much to say, here's the picture of the day!ENJOY!

I've got the blues...

an invite from our friend Ashley got us out of the house and into the City Park for some Blues festivities. (it was free, so we definitely couldn't turn it down) the weather was nice enough to hold off the rain while we were there, so i got the chance to snap some decent pictures...

and if you're wondering why i've got the blues...it's because one of my oldest and dearest best friend is leaving town!

that's Sean (isn't he special?) and we've been friends since the middle school. he's getting ready to embark on a journey of a lifetime as he travels across the country with four others. it's really bitter sweet cause i'm really happy for him, but at the same time, i'm going to miss him like heck! they are planning on being on the road for a whole year (if i'm not mistaken), but Sean's planning on traveling longer after their road trip is over. they're also planning on setting up a blog to write about their experiences, as well as using it to stay in touch with their friends on the East Coast. anyway, J and i will both be missing him dearly. i'm in the process of making him a little something something to take along for the trip and J's getting him some books to read along the way. summer won't be the same without you buddy...
to make matter worse, my family is leaving in about five days. (like i've mentioned before) i'm going to miss them like crazy also. my mom and i are very close, so not seeing her again till August is going to suck...i'm sorry to be blogging on a sad note. i've also been rather emotional (because of all of this) and under the weather lately (the allergy bug is a nasty bug!), so if i get a little behind on the posting, it's not because i'm being lazy. i promise you that after i gather myself together i'll be back to normal again. i hope you'll be sticking with me.
