sooo soft!

for the New Year, i made Remy a dog bed. i made it out of J's old thermal t's and some really really soft fleece. i really should have made it square shaped instead of human pillow shape (i really don't know what i was thinking! she can only fit on it in one direction), but she seems to love it.

i made Remy a dog bed a little while back out of J's old thermal shirt (black) and really really soft fleece
(this may not have been her good side. haha)

i stuffed it with fabrics a scraps that i've accumulated from projects...and even friend's projects and toped it with poly fil. let me tell you, this pillow is stinkin soft!!! i even thought about using it as my own pillow (well, my best friend used it last night actually), but Remy took an immediate liking to it. as soon as i've saved enough scraps, more will be made for sure!!!

new & better?

so i ran into an obstacle the other day at the fabric store...they didn't have the color fleece that i've been using for the sugar cookies, so i had to improvise on the spot and go with another color. there was no way i was keep looking for the fabric and waste time when Holiday Shop-n-Stroll (check out my vendor Q & A) is in two weeks!! yikes!

i chose a very very light light tan (think cream) and honestly, i don't think it turned out so bad. i mean, cause sugar cookies are pretty little in comparison to the rest, right?

the new and lighter sugar cookie

these guys are a little more on the time consuming side since i sew on the beads one at a time. the little ones are ok, but the bigger cookie is a doozy! luckily, i was watching the finale of Project Runway as i was sewing, so it was all good. i really loved Carole Hanah's collection, but Irina's collection was so well put together! did you watch it? what did you think?

it's peanut butter (minus jelly) time!

i've been having a couple of ideas prancing around in my head. making a peanut butter cookie plush is one of them. this cookie is smaller than the chocolate chip cookie (think pin size) and the stitches mock the impression of a fork (like a real pb cookie). i'm not sure what to think of it yet. does it resemble a cookie even?

i was thinking about making a few smaller cookies (think life size) and packing a couple of them up together as a group. what do you think? i mean, i like the idea. once i get some beads, i'm thinking about a sugar cookie to add to the mix. i don't know, i might toy with a couple of different sizes first. we will see.

does this little guy look wonky? let me know what you think.

I got it!

i really could not help myself when Heidi of My Papercrane updates her shop...i just go gaga for her stuff!

for the most part, i've been unlucky in getting first dibs on her one of a kind pieces (she updates monthly, but i'm usually at work and can't order until i get home...ugh!)...like an adorable, one of a kind tea cup that slipped out of my cart cause i was too slow! never the less, this time, i managed to grabbed some painfully adorable things.

like the skunk pin back above, to go with an owl one i got from J from Christmas. and this original design cuckoo clock fabric...hmm...what am i going to make this it? there are so many possibilities!

Sew n Place

somehow i had misplaced the buttonhole presser foot, so i had to order a new one. in the process we heard about a place called Sew n Place. it's a mom and pops sewing/fabric store filled with all sorts of fancy sewing machines, high quality quilting fabrics, and notions. they also clean/fix/check out your machines there.

got my lady sewing machine oiled and inspected.

i also fell in love with this beauty. they showed me how to work it and everything!!!

other than the presser foot, i also purchased some fabrics! i have been looking everywhere for wood grain printed fabrics and i finally found some!!

beautiful fat quarters

cute bunnies...i couldn't pass it up. Easter is coming after all.
i also got a buttons for a dime a dozen. seriously! these were my favorite.

i'm so glad we made this trip. i came home with some good stuff and now i can try to finish the bats! yay!

OH! and don't forget! tomorrow is the last day to post comments for my anniversary giveaway. the winner will be announce on saturday!!! good luck!
